California’s Sierra Sands Unified School District undertakes a 185,060-square-foot construction project for Burroughs High School on Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake to better the education serve needs of 1,453 students

The Sierra Sands Unified School District project was designed to address capacity and condition concerns in order to correct serious facility deficiencies as annotated in the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum approved July 19, 2011. The new school will consist of a 185,060-square-foot facility and support 1,453 students, of which 649 are military-connected children.

The Burroughs modernization and expansion project is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for February 2018.
