Washington’s Clover Park School District constructed a new 77,155-square-foot facility for Carter Lake Elementary School on Joint Base Lewis-McChord to better serve the education needs of 493 students

The local Clover Park School District project was designed to address capacity and condition concerns in order to correct serious facility deficiencies as annotated in the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum approved July 19, 2011. The new school will consist of a 77,155-square-foot expansion of Carter Lake Elementary School, which serves 493 students, of which 382 are military-connected children.

Upon completion of construction on the new facility, Carter Lake Elementary School held its grand opening in September 2013.
