Edwards Air Force Bases’ Desert Junior Senior High School

initiates design to update facilities

The design for the Desert Junior Senior High School is currently underway as part of the awarded Branch-Forbes Elementary School project, which also resides on Edwards Air Force Base. The school’s design is currently under review by the California Division of State Architects to ensure the school conforms to the local standard.

The school design will address both condition and capacity issues to correct serious facility deficiencies as annotated in the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum approved July 19, 2011. The new Junior Senior High School will provide the appropriately sized learning environment in a new 83,300 square foot facility and will support 500 children, most of whom are military dependents.
