The Tooele County School District project was designed to address capacity and condition concerns to correct serious facility deficiencies as annotated in the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum approved July 19, 2011. The new high school consists of a 71,635-square-foot expansion of the Dugway school and supports 129 students, of which 60 are military-connected children.

Upon completion of construction on the new facility, Dugway High School held a grand opening ceremony in January 2016.
