California’s San Diego Unified School District undertakes a 90,500-square-foot construction project for Hancock Elementary School on Naval Base San Diego to better serve the education needs of 625 students

The design for Hancock Elementary School will address capacity and condition issues as annotated in the Deputy Secretary of Defense memorandum approved July 19, 2011. The new facilities will provide the appropriately sized learning environment in a new 90,500 square foot facility supporting 625 students, 612 of which are military connected children.

The Hancock modernization and expansion project commenced in June 2016 and currently remains under construction. Project completion is scheduled for May 2019.
